    SRS light help

Ok guys this has been going on forever but its really starting to bother me. When driving my SRS light comes on, then other days it wont and to make matters even more disturbing the light flickers. The gauges have been changed but now they are back to stock. I havent had time to really look at it either. I also tried searching.

Next time it comes on try to pull the code. If there are no codes then you have an issue with the wiring for the SRS light. The wiring for that system doesn't typically go bad so chances are you have an issue with the SRS system. The most common code is for driver squib malfunction also known as the cable reel or clockspring. Have you messed with the steering column or steering wheel at all? Does it come on after making sharp turns? It could only be a handfull of other things, but the squib is the most common. Like I said pull the code and see what it says.

What about an electrical short? My light turns on then goes off once the engine warms up, but will sporatically flicker on when I turn. Any thoughts?

there's definately a short. if there were to be a fault somewhere in the SRS system, the entire system shuts down and the SRS stays on constantly until the car is turned off and restarted. It doesn't intermittantly turn on and off. You might have something wrong with the SRS computer. I would buy a new one off eBay for cheap and see if that fixes it. You wouldn't want the airbag to deploy accidentally...

What do you think are the chances of it deploying on me when driving?
