Ok so for about a month now my temp guage has jumped right to hot after startup usually about 30 seconds later. Well yesterday I put my CAI back in and I figure I would check the wiring on the Coolant temp sensors just to make sure it wasn't unplugged or anything and I notice some oil buildup under the Distributor probably due to a shitty oring but it actually was a loose lower mounting bolt for the Dizzy. Anyway I figure the contacts just have some oil buildup on them and I'd clean them off with some Brake clean good as new right, wrong now The car is hard to start Idles high and throws CEL codes 6 and 8. So it was getting late and I say screw it and swapped out the TEMP sensor directly under the dizzy today with another one and still same codes even after resetting the ECU. So my question is this what does the TDC sensor have to do with the coolant temp sensor especially since its my understanding that it is duilt into the distributor and two what is the other coolant sensor with the single wire under the dizzy. Any info?

the sensor with one wire is to send temp info to the gauge so it reads properly. the one with 2 wires is to switch the fan relay and tell the fan when to run. i dont believe a bad contact on that sensor would cause it to read in the red (hot) it would more or less not make contact at all and the gauge would read cold (like if the car was turned off with no power). my guess is that the sensor with 1 wire is bad. good luck.93 accord dx stock (mine)
