accord tanks are 17 gallons. the only way u will have to fill up that much is when ur car starts sputtering probably... or if u do a tank overhaul. most i got up to was 460 miles on a tank or so. tried to go 500 but i didnt wanna risk it.

close to 400 mpt with mostly city, usually a little better on the hiway as usual-- i also drive more agressively than most, and these hills out here really strain the rpms sometimes with fast freeway driving and all...
...haven't changed anything out on the engine, but i think im gonna clean up some stuff
only use 87 octane, my car seems to do worse on the "performance" gas ...
198k and she's a 5-speed, which im sure helps a lot, too
p.s. good to know the capacity of the tank, the most ive ever filled the car with was close to 15, nice to see i theoretically had an extra "50 miles" if i needed it
breathing is deadly underwater...

Well I got stick and I've noticed when I cruise in a high gear at low rps I use more gas I think its cuz its harder on the engine and feeds more gas to keep up. But I've notice if you fill up all the way past the F line it will go about 2 or 3 cm past and before it even reaches the F line I get a whoppin 75 or 80 miles! That helps alot.

fuel consumption
i decided to check my fuel consumption... from what i have read i should probably get 22-23 mpg... so i tried it out last night.
problem is on the counter it says 54[5] now a bit lost is that 545 km which i seriously doubt.. k then it probably is 54 km
so i used roughly one and a half gallons to make that trip. can some help me out and tell me if my car is over burning? it was a cool trip no rough driving.
thanx

so that can be the only major problem left right??
it used to be worse...i used to only get 125-150 to the tank...after i added some fuel system cleaner, it went up bout 30more miles to the tank
but i didnt notice any significant increase with the tuneup....what a waste of 200bucks

I get about 26 MPG mixed city/hwy. I can go about 350-380 miles on a full tank with 87 octane.
Here's a list of what i've done recently and i have noticed a big difference.
*replace spark plugs
*replace air filter
*replace cap and rotor
*replace fuel filter
*replace thermostat (was running too cold)
*use D3 in the city
*only use 5w30 oil
*replace gas cap
*replace oxygen sensor
*keep tires at 32 psi minimum
*replace spark plug wires
*use michelin "energy" tires
*clean EGR ports
*check ignition timing
that's all i can think of

My daily commute each way is like 40 miles at 75/85 mph, and 10 miles city. So I go 100 miles a day 80% 75 to 85 mph, and 20% city and get about 420 miles when I fill er up. The last few times was around 32 MPG.
This is with a 92 EX coupe transplant from California with a 5 speed. Its got about 180K on it now and it needs the EGR ports cleaned, the Plug Well Gaskets done(oil in the wells), and a T-Belt.

But on the other hand, if you really look at it, when the gas light comes on, there is still over 2 gallons of gas left in the car. Wouldn't that even out both halves?

My light came on last night and I had 380 logged. I drove another 20 miles (downhill) to a gas station and put in 16.125 gallons! Running it dry! Around 400 miles. What's that, like 25 MPG ?
When I fill 'er up, I usually top it off to the point that gas is almost at the cap. It goes about 1/4 tank past full when I do this.
