92 DX climate control issue... stuck on high heat!

The title is pretty damn descriptive if you ask me!

My DX is having a problem... the climate control is on permanent heat (which is a little uncomfortable in August!). I messed with the climate control unit while trying to change my dash bezel (found not all of them are the same... didn't fit... that's another story though). Apparently everything was, and is, hooked up properly there. I've never removed a dash before, so I don't quite know what else it could be. I'm assuming it's something behind the dash that needs fixing/replacing/reattaching or something?

It's the DX style controls, with the 2 sliders (only the fan has a knob). The lines are hooked up ok, but it won't go to cool. The temp slider moves fairly easily, but seems to have a little tension on it...

Any ideas? I really don't want the heat on all the time!

Bumparamma I just got this car inspected (it passed!) so I'll be driving it more. 3 more months till I'll need that heat! Little help!

I disagree with you Deev. Something is wrong with you line. Look for where it connects under the hood to that acutator. Inspect the actuator to see if it moves freely. From the actuator inspect your hoses. If there is nothing there then i would be looking at the AC part of the climate controls. But not to burden you, look at the line from the engine side first. Its against the firewall under that black box, or the throttle body.

you could always just disconect the wire on the actuator and close it so that no water goes into it.. then in the winter just open it up.

Cool. I'll have to check. I never knew where to look for the heater components under the hood. I'll mess with that tomorrow! Thanks!

Oh, and when I said everything was hooked up correctly, I meant to the dash controls... that's as far as I could figure to take it.

Deever, did you check this out yet? If not, get your ass up and check this out!!! LOL. Unless you like barbequing yourself whenever you drive.

Nope, still didn't... I did yardwork all day today (and then hung out with elchulo583 and his girl at night)

I'll probably mess with it on Monday or something. I'll get back to you guys when I look and have no idea what the hell I'm looking at!
