I think my CB7 hates me.. HELP!

Ok.. my car only does this on hot days when I get off work and really want to go home or when I have somewhere extreamly important to go to..

Cranks but no start.. It's an auto & the S light flashes (I have to count how many times).. will start eventually.. if it starts and the S light is flashing it shifts all funky untill I shut it back off and get it started w/o the light flashing..

Another issue.. Same issue as above but it started doing this today with a dead Battery at work (due to me leaving the key on after putting up the windows).. Car was hard to start and then finally started.. Removed jumper pack and car died.. Started hard again (took about 10 mins of fooling with it) let batt charge up a bit.. removed jumper pack car dies after a few mins.. Tested ALT.. it's good.. Have the batt on charger for the night at work in hopes to solve this problem.. I'll test it when it's fully charged.. but is it that theese cars have to have a charged battery to run?

Any help would be awesome.. I'm a mechanic and do all my own work.. but I work on Deisels for U-Haul for a living and sometimes theese cars with all the electronics get me all confused.. Things flashing and not starting and dieing with no reason..

im not 100% but mine is hard to start as well. although i have just recently switched back to a normal battery (used to have a smaller race style battery) nothing to do with it on my part. its my main relay. i know because its only during hot weather.. my car whenever is outside in the sun i try to park it with my tint towards the sun to allow a good buffer. and that works... and in the mornings when i head to work (430 am) it starts up fine never a missed start..

so do a search for main relay and have at it. good luck and welcome from nwai

I'll check it out.. Strange thing is my old '90 Integra used to do the same exact thing.. never figured it out just lived with it but it wasn't nearly as bad..

well its not chassis specific.. its age specific.. due to the age of our cars the solder on the main relays seems to be a weak link once the cars hit this age.. but again im assuming its your main relay..

it could just as easily be your dist. or ignitor coil.

maybe the cheapest way to start of is by changing the battery.Get another one from the salvage yard for like 20 bucks and see if it improves.

Well.. figuerd out one problem.. The connector to the ALT had a loose connection due to the clip on my ALT being broke .. I fixed that this morning.. Found out with a dead battery and the ALT unpluged the car naturally died on me and would not charge.. So thats fixed.. As for the no start deal when it's hot.. I'm going to wait and count the flashes of the S light next time it happens and see if that tells me anything.. I'm just going to replace the main relay anyways just to be safe..
