Well, after I did the blue LED DIY, my tach LOVES 2300 rpm and nothing else...and it actually goes down from there to 0 from what is really (Im estimating here) 4800-5600rpm. And my fuel gauge is hopelessly optimistic- its stuck at full. Now when I pulled them out, I was very careful not to touch the needles, except the fuel gauge, which I had to move to the correct position, since its the only needle that stays where its at when the car is off. Im wondering if I connected a circuit I shouldnt have or if theres something wrong with the screws behind the two gauges (they draw their power through those screws, as shown by the contacts below the tops of the screws). Help?

well it depends on h ow you hooked up the LED.. if you did id the orig. way that cpmike showed its very possible you connected stuff that shouldnt be.. but i can only speculate.. also the guage cluster are oh so finicky.. its a risk even doing indiglo rev.
good luck though.. i plan on trying this when i can get my hands on a spare cluster so if i fuck up i can still operate the vehicle.. best bet is to try and fix this and pick up an untouched one from your local yard.

tach- i dont know?
the fuel guage- you prob. tightned the screw to tight and broke the fine wire (its like the size of a hair), that connects from the nut that the screw screws into, to the guage internals. i had the same thing happin to me.. tryed to repair it but no luck. so i got another fuel/temp. guage to change it out someday. the gas light should still work though the guage is messed up-mine does.
