there are no visible leaks that i can see. could the fluid just be low? for being a new clutch it doesn't feel very stiff when you push it in.

if there is slack that is an indication of not enough fluid in the cylinder?

there is suppsoed to be only around a quarter inch of slack...so there is your problem

actually, it either might be air or you just need to re-adjust your clutch. you are suppsoed to re-adjust it anyways after a certain amount of mileage of break-in and every 10k after that.

so bleed it and get the clutch pedal adjusted? what kind of fluid do you stick in your cars slave cylinder? i really hate being the uneducated new guy but i can use all the advice i can get.

Durring the summer, the slave cylinder boots go bad and start to leak a little here and there. It can happen any time, but it's frequent durring the hot months. You proabably have a leak in the clutch system and it's 90% chance gonnabe the slave cyl. It's been mentioned like 10 times, so try to bleed it and look for any leaks around the boot at the cylinder. They are cheap and easily replaced. Doesn't sound like anything major to me. Keep the new accord, just get this shit straight first.

look at the firewall where the clutch master cylindar rod comes through the firewall. see if there is any brake fluid (thats what you use in the clutch system) there. if there is fluid there then you need a new clutch master cylindar.

also check the slave cylindar for brake fluid around that. if there is then you need a new slave cylindar.

if it worked fine when you got the car but the next day it didnt work right then i would assume that the previous owner was filling the system with fluid and pumping the pedal or bleeding the system every so often (maybe even every day) but didnt want to deal with replacing parts. im willing to bet you have bad master or slave cylindar.
