Problem with Stripped Lug Nut ..

As we were gettin ready to leave for the Orlando Meet, I got a flat on pass/rear.

I had to have the car towed to my mech, cause one of the lugs was stripped ..
    and would'nt come out/off.

When I was there, he had a guy bring over a torch to cut it off, but told me that he'd have to
fawk up my nice 97 SE rim .. I was like, "nooofawkinwayman" lol.. "leave it on, I've driven with
    3 before, no biggie"

Question is .. how *else* would I be able to get that lug off/out, without fawking my rim up?
I've tried everything .. and that biotch just wants to spin free. I was hoping that the
long trip up to Orlando would take care of it, and I'd hear it fly off on the way up .. but,
    no such luck.

    Anyone have any suggestions ?

    Thanks in Advance ..
    Tomi

Unfortunately, I had this happen to me. In order to get the lug off, you need to remove the center nut in the middle of the hub to remove the entire assembly with the wheel still attached. Once it is off you can simply cut the back of the lug off and remove it.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Good luck getting the caliper + bracket off with the tire/wheel still on, but that sounds like the best bet. You're gonna have to replace the hub unit if the lug hole is enlarged, or else the same thing will happen again.

Thanks guys .. I kina figured that was the only way .. just needed to *hear it* I guess ..

Soooo .. that *rear disc conversion* is sounding like a good excuse, right about now is'nt it?

        Thanks again !!!

theres another way we had to do this to my friends ride he had some nice 18s on his prelude and the nut was striped. what you can do is cover your rim as much as you can get some steel tubing and weld it to the nut then turn it off. it worked for us

Now you had to mention that, didnt you ... LOL .. shhhhhhh !!!

I'm trying to use this as an excuse, for the *rear disc* conversion .. seeing as how I'm sure
that the *lug hole has enlarged* and I'll have to *replace the hub* anyway .. .. heheheh
            But thanx ..
