You don't HAVE to.. but it makes it a lot easier to get them out. I remember the first set of JDM headlights I ever had (2 years ago) I let a shop install them (free of charge) and they didn't remove my bumper or body kit at all and still managed to get them in.

Save your self the time and remove it. There is a DIY on how to remove it if you have any questions.

i agree, it is MUCH easier to just take off the bumper. just make sure everything is lined up and all gaps are equal when u put it back together! this is where 2 people is a good idea.

Taking of the front bumper may sound dificult but it is a breaze get a friend to help. I did it by myself ( removal head light install, and bumper install) in about 20 min.

Same one I used, if you get confused, you can PM me only took us like 15 minutes the first time and now I can take it off in like 10 by my self. Just six bolts and a few small screws in the fenders.

I have a question, might be offtopic. For the rear bumper, a bunch of clips hold the bumper down right? And when you pop the clips you cannot reuse them right? You remove the clips with pliers right? I wanna diagnose how bad the rust is back there, thanks.

2 bolts at the top. Near the headlight area on the left and right. When you remove the amber cover, there are one under each of them. You might need an extension to reach them. After that it should come off.
