Can't find the jumper for CEL on some cb7's

I'm not sure if i'm going crazy or what but there has been about 3 seperate occasions where i can't find the jumper for the CEL. I couldn't find it in ALEX EX's car or Grumpys93. I mean i know exactly where to look and often jump mine but its like sometimes its there and sometimes it isn't. I'll see if i can take a pic of this mystery cause its got me stumped...but i'm not crazy lol. Anybody else run into this problem

ok Alex's was a 91 EX, Adam's is a 90 EX (i think), and Nick's is a 93lx...couldn't find any of them. I did find random plugs with two wires but none were blue plugs, jumped them anyways and not a damn thing happened.

I don't know how far up you looked, but mine was WAAAY up into the wiring harness the first time I pulled it out. It was tucked into the large trunk of wiring, so you couldn't even see the plug. That could be the case with those ones.

i didnt find mine till i had the dash off for my digital climate control conv. and now i am contemplating the switch so that i can just flip the switch and see the CEL..but i hope to never have enough CELs to need that for now i just have it taped down near the hole through the firewall that i ran my fog light wiring through fo easy access...

but yea..in my 91 LX coupe it was WAAAAAAYY up there.

Mine was the plug that i told you it was. It is just different and even wagalude said it was different. He has found a plug that plugs into the style that i have but i was still able to use the paper clip method and find out what cels were on through the version I have.

not sure why youre looking for a plug with two wires, it only has one.. and my friends 90 EX had a green plug for his service plug.. not sure why, but it was the exact same plug, only green..

thanks guys, i'll start looking harder for it. Adam, have you put any thought to wiring a switch to the jumper? I think they're only like $2 and it'd make diagnosing a breeze..i think i'll do mine this weekend.

its 2 wires...because you can't jump something thats already continuos I.E. one wire.

Look up between the Blower motor assembly and chassis or around/on the wire harness that runs around the bottom of the glovebox and the a pillar. If the car is never been touched it should be taped up with blue or gray tape concealing it from view.

If push comes to shove just apply ground to pin D4 and that will initiate the self diagnostic procedure.

I'm not sure if any of you guys have done this yet, but here's a write-up I did on that a while ago. It's very convenient for people like me who mess with their cars daily.

And I've had a few that were really high in the kick-panel area too. Almost seemed like they were intentionally hidden up there. Also, I've had one that the plug was almost in the same spot as on the CD5/CD7/CD9's (behind the glove box on it's own clip). Sometimes it takes a while to find them but they're always in the same general area so it's not that big of a deal.

Let me know if you ever find those 3 that you couldn't before. I'm curious to find out where they were.
