    fuel pump

    Driving along car was running fine until it started to stumble and then cut off. Check the motor is getting spark , batt good, did not smell any gas getting to the motor after i pumped the gas pedal a few times. I don't hear the fuel pump turn on but then again I could never hear turn on. Hope you could help me out guys if you can call me (210)862-0877.

    i think it's the main rely as well...does anyone know of a nice field fix? (aka. w/o soldering gun).

      btw, if you wanted to buy the main rely...new....how much would that cost, and were would we get it from?

        i got a main relay from the dealer but that was because no one else had one and it was 63. try autozone or advance or orielys if u got one, just call and ask for the main fuel pump relay.

          When you turn the key to the on position, can you hear a light humming noise?

          For a quick field fix on the main relay, give your dash a couple of bumps.

            welll, thats the problem he has now...so you guys think it's the fuel pump?

              hey guys got it fixed it was the dizzy i mean the whole thing was shot it cost a arm and a leg but thanx 4 the help guys might sell.

                good to hear

                mine cut off as you described when driving, and it was the coil that took a dump. in a friends car it was the ignitor that took a crap.

                  when mine went out i rememberd people saying it happened a lot when it was hot out. and it happened to be 100+ when mine crapped out. so what i did was walk ten minutes to the local office depot and bought a can of air, blew that on the main relay till i noticed a touch of frost (not a lot just a touch) then started the car right up.
