from my experience (been under a few Accords hoods), it usually has a sticker somewhere on the radiator support, on the underside of the hood, or in the perimeter of the engine bay saying whether or not it is r12 or r134.

also the fittings look different, but i'll let someone else elborate on that.

if its been converted the fittings will be different. they will have large blue caps instead if small black ones. there is a post on how to convert an recharge the a/c

so, where can i buy r12?

edit: checked ebay and they have some, now whether they check for certificate or not is beyond me.

Check out this freeze twelve stuff. screw paying $35 a r12 can with license.

NO do not use that "freeze 12" crap...its just a band-aid fix and will end up damaging the compressor. lkm and 1993sE....since both of you live in the D/FW area anyway, come see me and I'll fix your A/C systems. If you want to stay with R12 I have my own license to buy it or I can retrofit them to R134a....either way. Just ask mxcx....I fixed his A/C last month and now it blows ice out of the A/C vents.

hey, my a/c is acting really weird...it blows cold (pretty cold...not ice) and then it get's really weak, and then cold again...it's odd.

as far as your r12 problem, what are you going to do?

yeah about that freeze12, your not the first one that has said about blown compressors. So, I will do the smart thing and stay away from it.
