i was driving around last saturday when i stopped at a red light. when it turned green i stepped on the gas and it felt like if i was skidding...as if the tires didnt have any traction. for those that have an automatic, it felt like when the road is wet and you gun it and the tires skid...the thing is that the road was dry. it kept on doing that at every stop and sometimes when the gears would shift. when i got off the freeway and i stopped to make a right turn, the car started sputerring on me like if it was going to turn off...i put it on neutral and stepped on the gas to get the revs up. it didnt stall out but when i stepped on the gas it started acting up again like before and was sputtering also. i made it home fine but it just felt as if the gears werent going in well...like when you put the gear and you step on the gas but the gear isnt all the way in and the car feels weird. could it be my tranny? if not, what else could it be? i still need to fix my bro's car and i really dont have any money to fix my car right now. HELP!!

umm it sounds like it could either be, the spark plugs, not giving a good enough spark, for the engine problems, and definately the tranny if your slippin, now i dont know, maybe your tires are bald, you gotta be more specific, i think you are going to have many problems here, Tranny, Sparks, Distributor.. could be alot of things man...

something happened similar to my girls 3g, and it turned out to be a a bad motor mount. The engine on take off was moving too much and fucking with the tranny, it just rocked up and did it in first gear and once it got to second it was fine, and you could feel the engine rocking when you stopped hard sometimes too. check that then, not sure, but it sounds similar.2010 Taurus SHO - Livernois Goodies

Check your tranny fluid whens the last timeyou gave the girl a tune-up . and what gas are you using could be quite a few things i think its your fuel filter what gas your using i hope its premium bro.
It could be the fuel filter clogged or sparkplugs and sparkplug wires not putting out enough spark on top of that you may wanna check your distributor for cracks carbon deposits you know little shit like that.

thanks guys, but i doubt its going to be the distributer cuz i just changed it last year...the sparks plugs and spark plug wires i just changed to ngk's like 8 months ago and i havent notice the motor wobbling around much during shift changes so i dont think it might be the motor mount. its time for a tune up i know that so i might go get one done this weekend...i do all of my maintenance work religiously so i try my best to keep her running good. i have to admit thugh, i do use regular gas but ive been using it since ive had her so why would it start acting up now? my tires arent bald cuz i just got the new wheels with tires about 6 months ago and im always checking them to see if theyre inflated properly. do these answers narrow down the problem?

well, i changed the fuel filter and everything else i said i was going to do...while i was doing this, i noticed something that could be the culprit of all my problems...i followed my cai down and i noticed a rather significant hole in the tube...why? well, it looks like the shop that installed it didnt cut a smooth hole where the intake goes through and one of the pointy edges...over time...punctured a hole in my intake...what can i do to fix this? give it a ghetto fix and use duct tape? i dont want to buy another aem and spend another 200 bucks.

nah, duct tape is ur friend..last up more than electrical tape in heat =)What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Take it back to the shop that installed it and show them. Then demand that they do the installation right.
