    Brakes squeak when not applied

    my brakes squeak when not applied and the noise goes away when i apply the brakes... what could this be from...

    it can be the dust cover check it out mine was doin it and i fix it or it can be ur rotors need to be turned

      where is this located... (dust cover) and what is "turning" rotors

        It could just be low brakes. Did you actually check your brakes first?

            Yes it is the low pads warning. I had this a few days ago, new rotors with bendix ceramic pads changed all of that. I thought of going with blanks and ebc greens but I couldn't wait on shipping and all that.

              yes, agreed. It's just warning pads...I think you have 200 (not sure) miles left before you get down to "metal to metal".

              "turning" the rotors = grinding them down a little to get the "dimpels" out of them, that way the surface is totally flat.

                  I thought the warning was given when you depress the brakes. It would only get louder when you get on the brakes, not go away. However I think new pads might be suggested not because they may be low, but maybe they are just junk pads.

                    well...my warning pads only squealed when i wasn't braking and stoped when i was...just my two cents.
