My h2o pump took a shit, and the symptoms were overheating while being stopped and cooling down while moving at above 30mph.

Also, I didn't see any radiator fluid moving across when I opened the cap, and I even poured more in there but I'm assuming a bad pump would not allow it to flow at the top.

Also, just to confirm sparkle, you're using a Civic style "half radiator", I'd assume a slim-fan of some sort, and you do not have the thermostat in. Correct?

I'd say flush out the entire system and go from there first.

Yeah, drain all the coolant, fill her up w/water, circulate it for a minute.. drain that, and to be safe, do it again. Then refill with coolant/h20 and see what happens. Is the rad new? and how old is the water pump? I saw somewhere someone had a picture of a water pump, and the fins were completely corroded away. Are the flakes more silverish or goldish? I know the water pump is more goldish in color.
