like 2.2 said check your oil dip stick. Is the oil black, clear, or dose it look like coffe and cream? also you can start the car and pul one plug wire off at a time ( from the valve cover) is ther a noticble drop on your rpm s? And as mentioned check your radiator is the coolant brown? when it warms up do you see bubbles in the coolant?
I also agree with mrhonda on the over heating. If you did over heat chances are you blew your head gasket.
If memory serves me white smoke is blown head gasket
    black smoke fuel problem
    blueish smoke rings
    good luck

      She's alive !!!

WELL... it's the next day after I posted my message ... & I'm happy to report that the car started. I'm thinking that the humidity here in the southeast ... having come from the southwest .... had a big influence on it. It rained here in Charlotte, NC the night before and most of the day when she acted up. I let her sit for a night and all day today and when I cranked her ... she started up like a baby. Seems like she lost compression somewhere. I'm still gonna take her in to get her looked over. She probably needs a good work over ... want to change her intake manifold / exhust system anyway. Thanks.

thanks ... still thinkin about it

hey... thanks for talkin on the phone last night, bud. i think u put me on the right track regarding compression and stuff..... we'll see though. not gonna take her to that hon-doc shop we talked about. talked to the owner and he seemed like a real jerk. .... am still interested in your car though. not sure if i want to buy the whole thing though...cuz not sure where i'll park it. i have a hard enough time with the neighborhood association when i added another car to their neighborhood. that was weird... but, anyway, i'll give you a call like i said before the end of the week.

I dont know if it matters but i was going to say to replace your Fuel Filter.
Well all your Filters for that matter.
Also, if you're saying that you lost compression, try doing a Compression Leak
Down Test. To see where its scaping from.
If you wanna get down and dirty, do a Wet Compression Test.

You do that by putting 2 aquirts of oil through the spark plug hole.
Crank the car, if the compression rises (compared to the Dry compression you did) then you got bad rings.

thanks for the replys folks.... the car is running and:

                1. Never overheated .... I wouldn't allow the car to do that to her self.
                2. Coolant is always full and changed more often than it really needs to be - primarily cuz i like working on the car.
                3. blown gasket? i thought of that but I doubt it. I took her in and the problem was diagnosed as having to be seal leaks. I'm getting that done. I do however want to get that changed out soon though along with a new exhuast system.

Thanks though... look like it's all taken care of for now.

HOWEVER: I do want to get to the point where I can get some kick ass stuff put into her. I am going to get a newer accord but would like to eventually retro my 90 from the suspension up to the engine system. ... gonna put myself out there and say that i'm new to doing that and hope that i don't get ripped off by someone who thinks they can take advantage of me ... i learn fast though, which is a plus on my side. later.
