    It's so annoying....

hey guys, before i get flammed i wanna say I DID SEARCH but found no answer so

any way. my 91 slush box(auto matic) keeps making this whining sound!!! It makes it in all gears (even in park and N) and gets louder when i rev it higher. AC and PS work fine... I assumed it was the belts pullys etc... we took it into good year and replaced all the belts. Still whining. Homie at good year told us it was the Speed Sensor. (I thought it was kinda weird for the speed sensor to make that noise in PARK. but i had to replace it any way, the speedo was actin funny)
Still whining after the NEW speed sensor from the dealer. THEN recently, we took it into a transmission shop to have it looked at. The guy said it was a common problem in those year Nissan and Honda automatics. He said the flex plate inside the trans broke and was making a groove inside of the trans, thats what the whining noise was. It made sense, and even pops (whos a mechanic) said he forgot about flex plates.

We get it back, new flex plate and fresh tranny fluid. ITS STILL WHINING! No more, no less... It's still there.

    My movie thread

Thats a thread to my CB7 movies, in one of the movies (Entitled first video i ever made) if you listen closely when the hood's open, you can hear it, shit you can hear it when im inside the car.
Can some one please shed some light on this situation. I would really appreciate it.

Nope, havnt added anything.... just a new distributor in the past few months, but the whining was before that....

The whining has been with the car ever since we've had it. (5 years, more or less) and its just gotten worse. I already need to replace the half shafts. Now I might need a new tranny?!

Don't engine bearings make a whining noise, which would explain why its whining while being still? Someone had a whining noise coming from their EK hatch and I was told their engine bearings were bad but I'm sure, don't quote me on it.

But, bro, auto trannys, run from them. Nothing but problems from our cars, especially with their age, and the hard p -> d them bitches do. Lol. Best of luck man.

what the hell..? Whenever I turn, there is a clicking sound, i was told it was the half shaft. and i was told just the other day that flex plates make a clicking noise, not a whining sound... So could it be my wheel bearings (even though im not moving?)

and what about that clicking sound...?

If you turn and it clicks, that is the CV joints, get em fixed. You might be able to hear it better in a parking garage, to isolate the sound better.

the clicking while turning are the axles...go to autozone and buy them there cuz you have a lifetime warranty so whenever they go again, you could get them for free...if you lived closer iw ould be able to help you out but its not hard to replace them...hardest part would be taking off the axle bolt

I plus one and say the clicking is axles (worn CV) but the whine sounds like the engine, not the transmission. I'm no mechanic so what I say is only worth little, but say you're in neutral, the trans should not be affected or moving at all, am I right? I think it's something in the engine itself making the noise.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

thats what i thought at first too, could it be the alternator... it comes from around that area...
