    Right front tire is shimmying

i was driving the other day and they i heard a snap or break or some noise and then my right fron wheel started to shimmy so i slowed down to about 25 when it stopped to shimmy then i drove home about 20 miles. what do u think is causing this pain in my ass. i have been driving my dads lexus around this weekend. please help i need to get this fixed. someone said it might be the wheel beqaring or the tie rod but i looked at that and i didnt see any dammage.

i just looked at the rim it doesnt seem bent i rolled it on the concrete of my garage and it goes straight. what else could it be. but i dont think i hit a pot hole and all the weights are still there.

ricky, cant an axle or a ball joint breaking make that noise?

my axle never totally blew out, but made my car not steer correctly and wobble and it also made a ticking sound when acceleration and turning in a certain direction.

If there is 4 or 5 inches.. yikes. My guess would be maybe the tie rod is right on the edge of breaking, although if it was, and you drove 20 miles on it..... it would have broken. Just jack the car up, put it on a few jackstands, and just pull/yank on stuff. If something moves and its not supposed to, then I would guess thats your problem.

im not to sure what the problem but i would try swapping that rim with the one on the otherside that way if the shimmy changes to the otherside you can narrow it down to being the wheel or a suspension part. just a suggestion

Looking wont do you much good. Go down there and pull on stuff till something makes a weird noise. Or you could always just keep driving it until it totally fails, and the wheel falls off. Both ways, you'll be able to find out what the problem is. One being "easier" than the other, and typically the route taken.

i moved the steering knucle back and forth all u hear is the suction of the racks fluid from one side to the other and i pulled the half shaft theres a little play but thats normal the tie rod is still stiff the suspension is fine idk what it could be
