Air conditioner in the car not working.

Well when i got the car it never worked that is the A/C

when your car is this old what do you do in order to get the A/C funtional again.

as some of you are experianceing it is getting very hot and im thinking my 2 kids in the back seat are takeing the hit worce than i would be and i need to fix that for there sake.

what should i do, or how much do you think this would cost to fix??

I had it checked when I was doing other work, the mechanics just converted/refilled it and checked for leaks. After that it was fine. So you may just need to be refilled.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

I had taken it to a mechanic shop that my friend worked at. I was getting new axles and the exhaust fixed at the time so I don't know if that influenced the price but it was $40 for convert, drain/refill, and check. I don't know if that price would be what to expect. You may or may not need the conversion. I had r12 in there so I did.

What about his Kids.... A/C didn't come R134A until late 94 so you will most likely have it converted. Sometimes the A/C compressors go bad, but in your case, it may have been just a leak. Take it to any mechanic shop and have it converted to R134A (believe me, its much cheaper) recharged, and checked for leaks, you probably have some leaks, but the repair costs wont bee too harmful to your wallet, then go from there.

agreed, this would be the best plan of action.
