Mayberry, I might be interested in getting a pound to throw in, because I'm pretty sure its relatively full (maybe 50-60% full) and the a/c is definitely cold, but colder isn't a bad thing!

Think I should, or just wait till its more used up?

If done properly it won't leak anyway so might as well stick with what it was designed for. That was my thinking. I figure if I lost 1/4 pound in 13 years I'll stick with what works.

just get 134a

r12 is expensive. just use 134a. do what fizzbob says. empty the system and fill with 134a. youll only loose tiny portion of your a/c condensor. itll work fine.
