    Well, I will take a look at that, but you said if the light comes on you need a sending unit, and if it doesn't it must be something else. Am I correct in saying that?

    on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,

            Yes. You short two pins from the connector of the sending unit. If the light illuminates within 20 seconds then the circuit and bulb is okay, and the sending unit is prolly bad. It's in the SM under electrical somewhere. The light is on a delay to compensate for the gas sloshing in the tank.. that's why it takes a while when you do the test.
