      As far as running it outside of the car - I saw some nifty flex cable casing in Lowes the other day that would be great for this.
      Its used to protect big wires then they are run around your house, or underground. Its flexible and only runs about $1.70/ft.

          Why would you guys even risk running that shit on the outside?
          Its not like its not easy to run it through your cars interior.

            wow, some of you have no common sence why the hell would you run a wire outside the vehicle, chances or something damaging it is 1000000 times greater even with a hose it will deteriorate with the weather and the chemicals in the paint will react, why risk anything.... have you ever seen an audio system with wiers outside the vehicle ?
