car won't start, stuck in park

today my accord decided to take a dump on me again. it broke 15 miles away from my house and i had to get it towed. It all happened trying to get on the freeway, the check engine light came on and the engine stalled at 60mph. I tried to start it and it won't. i checked for spark and there was none of that and it didn't sound like it was getting fuel either. So after i got the car home i tried to move it a little bit, but i didn't hear a click for the shifter lock solenoid, or i could take it out of park. any ideas ? i am thinking a bad efi relay, but the one i have on now is only 10 months old.

I tried pulling the codes out of the car but the cel is solid, no blinking. Also the d4 light is off now

oohhhh....CEL is on but it won't flash you a code when you jump the connector? Sounds like a bad ECM to me.

i thought that one too, but i looked at the diagrams for the efi and 2 of the leads from it run to the ecu.

also every time i checked for codes and there were none, the light would be a solid on, not off, but when in the normal mode will go off after 5 seconds, now it is a solid on all the time

My ecu does that too, it shouldn't necessarily be an indication of a bad ecu. My CEL stay lit when there are no codes, but if there are, it taps them out.

Hey check your U/H fuse box. Mine blew a couple fuses in a drive thru once and acted just like that. I don't know what caused it, but about 2 weeks later my alternator went out... mighta been a surge I dunno.

Check your fuses... fixed my problem.

Check the back up (7.5A) fuse in the underhood fuse box... Sounds like that one is your cuplrit.

actually it was the ecu fuse on driver's side fuse box. i like how i spent $54 on towing and $.15 on the fuse.

A little late now, but always keep a box of miscellaneous fuses in your glove compartment box. Shit like this happens all the time with old cars. At least next time you'll know to check all the basic stuff like battery cables, fuses, etc before you call the towing company...

And its better you only had to replace a fuse instead of wasting money swapping ecu's etc... only to find it wouldn't have fixed your problem

if the car suns with no problem at all from now on i really don't want to invest any time in finding out why. my accord is a pos anyway. all i care is to take me where i want to and back. and i am keeping some spare fuses inside of at all all times.

Sometimes there is no real reason. If it just blew once and it never happens again, chances are it was just an old fuse. When my car did the exact same thing as his in an Arby's drive thru, i replaced the fuse and there were no more problems. 2 weeks later my alternator blew... could just be a coincidence, maybe not.

If its working now, I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again.
