    Messed up TPS or wiring?

of the three wires, 2 of them have been fixed. one was soldered the other was fixed using a buttconnector/solder sleeve... you slide the sleeve over the wires and just heat it.

randomly i get a cel for tps. sometimes ill just turn the car off/on and itll go away for a couple days. or ill pop the hood, wiggle the connecter and start the car again. and again, itll be good for a couple days, maybe a week... but it always comes back. resetting the ecu doesnt do shit, cause ive tried that too.

is it more likely to be one of the wires having a bad connection or is the tps messed up?

check the wires to see if their pushed all the way into the connector.. i had a simular prob. w/the black ground wire pulled out from pushing the wires aside when working on the car. then when i plugged it in the wire would push out of the connector. the tabs to lock in the wire werent holding it in. so look at that, and try to push in the wires at the plug so they all look the same depth
or it could be going out, but prob wire issues

i had a similar problem with the TPS CEL too. i checked all my wiring connections, which were all soldered; found it to be a failing TPS after all.

so a tps can be more than just working or not working? if theyre going bad, they can work sometimes and than randomly set off a cel?

most def..i had properly adjusted my TPS to .45v at closed throttle and eventually got rid of the CEL during idle or normal driving. every now and then, when i hit WOT, the CEL comes back on and it reads as my TPS again. i tried adjusting it to 5.0v at WOT, but then the CEL stays on constantly. i'll be replacing my TPS soon, so i'll keep u updated.
