i got a CEL but then i dont...

so after draining the oil today (came out to over a gallon w/o pulling the filter)

i went for a test drive, whenever i pressed on the gas, the rpms would drop so i said, "fuck it" and started driving. when i came to the first stop sign, the idle was normal, i made a round around the block and everything was fine. i turn right...go for a bit and my car hella stumbles and a CEL pops up.

it starts idling pretty rough (around 400), so i finally make it back and once i let go of the gas and put it in neutral the car dies and i coast it to my house

so i take my key out of the ignition, put it back in and the CEL is gone and i idle liek normal. once i press on the gas it drops to about 300-400rpms and recovers.
here is a video. (oh and thats a magnaflow muffler)

but seriously it feels as it is going to kill, it is supposed to be around the 4th tick mark not the 2nd one though. around the 2nd one, the car starts shaking.
    i even reseted the ECU.

You may have overfilled your engine with oil. I read a TSB from Honda that said too much oil can cause the engine to idle low. I've found that my engine idles better when the oil level's half between the MIN and MAX dots on the stick. As far as it dying on you and displaying a MIL, you should pull the code and see what's up with it.

I just put too much oil in mine, and now it idles like yours... Once some of it leaks/burns off, then it starts idling nice again.

after the car was warmed up, the dip stick said around 90%.

i know that b4 it was way too much. but i wondeer if it'll drop low if i turn the idle to like 1k.

That looks alot like what my car does often as it's warming up. I'm 98% sure it's my IACV (Idle Air Control Valve).
Did you pull the code yet to see what it was?

once i turn the car off and back on, the cel disappears.
but i was checking out the IAC thingie and i might do this 2morrow...seems pretty easy.

even though you don't have the cel lit up you can still check the cel code(s):

hmm, but also when you reset the ecu, isnt it suppsoed to clear the memory for radio stations? cuz mine didnt change?

so you reset the ecu without pulling the code first..

                        smart guy..

yeah dude next time you get a CEL, pull the code. DO NOT reset the ECU untill after you fix the problem.

well, either way i can get the code because the CEL comes on sooner or later.

it is just that the light disappears when i shut off the car...

even if the light goes out the ECU WILL store past CEL codes in it's memory unless you reset the ESU by disconnecting the batt or pulling the ECU fuse.
