check and see if your cruise control work. if they don't work, then you have a bad brake pedal position switch.

check the switch under the dash, when you press the pedal it allows a little white button to move out, thats your brake switch.

If one of the lights works then its not that switch. It's going to be a relay if the bulbs aren't blown. A very simillar thing happened to mine and it ended up being the rear brake light relay, cost about 20 bucks to buy and I put it on.
I live my life a quarter mile at a time. . . for those 56.7 seconds my Nike Shox are are laying the rubber to the asphalt. (Car to be born soon, should drop quarter times to about 15 secs or less SOHC all motor).

Had the same problem, check ur connection on the brake sensor in the passenger outer taillight, this controls ur third brake light and the passenger brake light. Sensor is hold by 2 screws inside the tail light take it out and check if any pins on the sensor or even the wire connector has burned out or what not. Most likely u have to replace the sensor or the wire connecter or it just came loose

do you have a digital multimeter? there should be a few wires coming out of the switch, there is one that is green with a white stripe or white with green stripe i cant remember but that wire should read 0volts with the pedal at rest and 12volts when you push the pedal in. if it reads 0 when pushed well time to steal a switch from the junkyard.
