    Late night surgery last night...

Just FYI for all the new tuners... if your battery light comes on your dashboard, get thee to a parts store for a new alternator, very quick-like. Mine came on yesterday coming home from work, and I new what it was (thanks "Search Button") so I went over to autozone to pick one up. I didn't make it back. Its like a 5 mile drive from my house and I still couldn't make it all the way there and back.

So I had my new alternator and battery, my car is dead in a parking lot at 10 at night. I had to call a taxi to pick my ass up and haul me home, jumped into a spare ride with my tools and headed back out there. The job only took me an hour so I was back by 11:30, tired as all hell. Working under parking lot light sucks!!! Just a funny story, I thought I'd share it with you. I was really surprised at how fast the car died after the light came on. It basically only ran for like another 1-2 hrs before it was DEAD. No tapping with a hammer could revive that thing... I guess it just had too much power steering fluid leaked over it for the past 15 years

I did that, same problem, damn power steering fluid! At least it wasn't raining and on the freeway like me. That sucked, but NAPA was like 1/4 mile away so I walked... in the rain. Sucked bad.

My alternator was replaced back in Novomber 2003. A day or two before the repair, the battery light flickered and came on, then off. I got it replaced with a reman. Bosch. Is that autozone alternator new or reman. ? Bosch is the best aftermarket one, they even pay for your towing if it evers needs replacement within the warranty period.

I'm guessing its remanufactured, like all their parts. It's a lifetime warranty part though so no worries. This now makes the like the 10th part in my car thats lifetime warranty

You should always keep a flashlight, a few sockets and a ratchet in your car just in case.
