    Clutch "play"

I was searching for an answer to my question, but the old thread that kindof touched base on my situation, really didnt completely answer my question. So...here we go.

I have about 1-2 inches of play in my clutch pedal. I really dont like it. I would like to have about 1/2" play. By this I mean, I dont want to have to push the pedal down 2 inches before the clutch finally disengages. 1/2" I would think would be more ideal.

Though I read in that old thread about the clutch pedal being adjusted to far and burning up the clutch. I REALLY dont want to do this, so is 1/2" enough play or do I need more? Im not one to ride with my foot on the pedal. As soon as I shift, my foot's off and to the side.

If this 1/2" play is feesable...how do I adjust it? Is there an adjusting bolt somewhere under the dash? (Im at work right now or I would go and look)

    Thanks for the help guys/gals.

i don't think 1/2" of play is possible. the play is there for a reason. however there is an adjustment nut where the pedal pivots so you can try adjusting that. it's good that you are aware that adjusting the engagement point too far will burn up the clutch. keep that in mind. the other factor is if you adjust too much the clutch will not fully disengage inabling you to shift gears.

when i get home, i'll refer to my trust manual to let you know the range that you should stay within.

you can do that with cable type clutch but we have hydraulic...so it automatically adjusts...well at least for me it does.

i adjusted mine... look at the clutch pedal.. the clutch master cylinder connects to the clutch pedal.. its a the master cylinder rod wit a bracket..

you must remove the cotter pin.. then the bolt that goes thru the pedal is out.. then under the bracket is an adjustable nut.. u adjust it to your likings

kinda hard because u have to play with it for a few and make sure the clutch engages and disengage good too..
