yes 215's will fit, but you may scrub some depending on drop. On my 91 I had 215/45 and they worked pretty wellI live my life a quarter mile at a time. . . for those 56.7 seconds my Nike Shox are are laying the rubber to the asphalt. (Car to be born soon, should drop quarter times to about 15 secs or less SOHC all motor).

My wheels are Enkei RF-1 16x6.5 I am using the original suspension and I'm not planning on dropping it anytime soon. I just don't have the money. This is what the car looks like right now, with 205/55/16 Yokohama YK420s. I am running our of tread and will be buying tires next Monday. The reasons why I want 215s instead of 205s are the increased traction and stability from the increased tire width. Also, the 215 has an aspect ration of 50, as opposed to the 205's 55. This would give me less roll when I'm turning. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with this tire size without a suspension drop?
And the ninjas had sweet victory, and there was much rejoicing.

check this out:
http://www.discountpartcenter.com/tirecalc.html
get your real tire size ratios there.
yes 215's will fit with the correct wheel offset. with your stock suspension it should be fine. i've seen 225's but fender rolling was a must there.
and just to add to your comment on 215's having an aspect ratio of 50 as opposed to 205/55. yes the ratio is different but it will give you almost the same amount of tire roll when cornering. according to the link above, the 215/50 is only a tiny bit smaller (1.7% speedometer reading error) compared to 205/55. sidewall width only differs by .2" and that's not enough to make a drastic change in tire roll. just an FYI for ya !

Ok, so I have narrowed it down to two options:
OPTION #1 205/50R-16 BF Goodrich Traction T/A VR
OPTION #2 P215/50R-16 BF Goodrich Traction T/A VR
I can get both for the same price from the awesome guys at Discount Tire, and they even offered to let me ride the 215s with the option of exchanging them if I figure out real fast that I don't like them.
Given these options, what would y'all do? I value your opinions.
