brake light lit up on gauge cluster.............

I checked my bulbs around the entire car and everything seems to be fine. No bulbs are blown and also, I checked my brake fluid level and it's still topped up from my tune up in November. Can anybody help me identify this problem???

Oooh I almost said "Congratulations, you have a burnt out brake light". Then again fizzbob might be right in thinking that you are talking about the brake light for the hand brake. In any case if it's your burnt light indicator, it could mean that your 3rd brake light was out. Or you might have had something like what I had where all of my brake lights were ok, but from time to time one would go out intermittently causing the indicator on the dash to light up. The culprit was a bulb that had a bad filament. Somehow one side became detatched and the indicator would light up. Other times it would touch the contact inside, and voila! a perfectly working bulb. If your light is intermittent, then I would suggest popping out the bulbs and looking at each closely. Shaking them a little will help you see if you could have a bad filament. Good luck

      Whoa

      Now is it the:
-square lamp on dash that says 'brake' (or the Ca equivalent)
      or
-the 'brake lamp' light underneath the pic that shows what doors are open?

I was a little vague in my discription. it's the light under the door indicators, not the e-brake light.

i know that if you have the altezzas on a 90-91 then your light should be on b/c there is no spot to put the bulbs on the inner tail lights so maybe if you have the altezzas thats your problem

Our accord tails dont have a tight fit to the body esp. where rain water drains off the back.....i have had the same problem w/ my 86 and now my 93, water gets in and causes condensation inside the switch which can throw the brake light on..simple fix...drill 1 tiny hole on each end on the far corner of the tail light...make sure its on the lower brake part since thats where the water would be...this would drain any water that gets in the tail if not epoxied...with some expoy (clear) just go over parts of the tail light...it helps; if the light goes back on, clean connections like they already mentioned...
