For a few months now:
Me (93 lx) and my friends car (92 ex), plus someone on HS all are having this problem, oh yeah all of ours are autos. Basically when i startup my car it idles and runs prefectly fine at 1k. As soon as a put it into reverse the rpms jump to 1.5K and stay there. I feels as if someone is pushing the gas cause my car wil backup very quickly and my intake makes a louds sucking noise as if the throttle was depressed. When it does that, i would put in in park or nuetral and the rpms jump to 2K then drop back to 1k and return to normal. Next, when ever i put it drive right after i reversed it would do the same thing. It would go up to 1.5K and it would be stuck there, without pushing the gas i can get up to 20mph. While driving, if i let off the gas it would sometimes fall down to 1k and be ok, but other times it would get stuck at 1.5k and it makes it very difficult to stop the car. My dad took it to a mechanic, they cleaned the the fuel injectors, but it didn't do shit.
As of today:
Today i had time to work on this problem. I took off the TB cleaned the hell out of it, got a new TB gasket and got a new PCV vavle (broke it today), also i changed the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube gasket cause it was leaking oil down into the spark plug. When i had it all back together, i started to car and the idle started to jump up and down, I fixed that after adjusting the idle control valve. Now the sad part, the problem is still there. However my idle has dropped down to 500 (can't get it to go up any higher anymore =( ) and it's still doing what it did before i worked on it today cept instead of getting stuck as 1.5k it's doing it around 1.1k.
What i know for sure is that the throttle cable isn't sticking and the TB plate isnt sticking.
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? I desperatly need some help on this.....sorry for the long read.
