    HELP - Tranny oil advice

JDM H22A LSD (Limited Slip) tranny

I'm looking for advice - which oil to use in LSD tranny?
Some people tell me use regular Honda MTF, others say the RED LINE or some other brand name Performance oil. A few even told me the GM Syncomesh is best for differential (LSD) trannys. I'm using the Honda MTF right now... Last time i went to change my fluid, the shop recommended a special blend of gear oil, ATF and MTF. They told me this blend is what they use for differential trannys. My third gear developed a strange grind when engaged at high rpm. So I changed it back to regular Honda MTF, and now it shifts all smooth. I'd like to hear what you guys are using, and what you think works best. The car is frequently red lined and sees a lot of track time during the summer, so I change the fluid quite often...
    Any feedback is appreciated.

I would stick with Honda MTF. That's the best fluid for your tranny.

Do you have a OEM (from honda LSD) or a gear based LSD (like the quaife)?

I have the OEM JDM LSD. But as far as my knowledge... the OEM Honda LSD's are made by Quaife.

Yeah then the best fluid is def the honda MTF.
I have that 3rd gear grind too, just like you have it (high rpms only). You might want to try a 2 parts honda MTF one part "GM Synchromesh with Friction Modifiers" if it really bothers you. I've heard good things about GM Synchromesh, but there are bad things too. The main thing being that the GM fluid was disigned for GM gear boxes and not honda's.
Redline is good if you change often since it seems to brake down ratheir quickly.
I'm really trying to put too much info in too small a space here.
I found this link looking for some infor on the net:

you should also research in this forum. I know this has been discussed before.

yeah ive been doing some research on syncromesh, many people swear by it, and state that the tranny starts to shift smoother within 500 km. Have heard very little negative feedback about this. there are two versions of the stuff. I have been hesitant to try this syncromesh simply because it seems to good to be true.

Yes, I've heard that the syncromesh is great stuff, BUT it shortens the life of the syncros in the tranny (From what I've heard anyway). If you're tranny is already grinding away then you may as well use the syncromesh since it will prolong the life of the tranny before the need of a rebuild or replacement.

If it's cold Redline MTL stinks. It pained me to dump $26 worth of clean synthetic fluid in favor of $15 Honda MTL. Once it started to get real cold it was basically unuseable.

i usually use 80/90 gear oil. i beat tha fuck outta my cars when i race it(been a year) but it holds up at 9K and doesnt fling off like reguallr tranny/motor oil redline is just as bad as those i only change the fluid every 20K miles then

I friend of mine just blew his tranny today on a CG5 Accord racing some Protege on the highway. His was using Red Line tranny fluid that he put in 2 weeks ago. Coincidence?
