How Do You De-pin a Thermostat Temperature Sensor Connector?

I was putting the engine back together after dealing with a broken timing belt and the electrical connector for the temperature sensor on the thermostat housing disintegrated when I tried to install it. It broke into so many pieces I can't figure out how to de-pin one from a spare harness I have. Looks like it is identical to the connector for the sensor on the upper hose connection to the head, so I have two chances.

Pull the white retaining clip thing out, then use a small pick or screw driver to press the clip holding the pin in.

You may have to Google some pin removal videos. They're all the same.

The portion of the white part that survived the devastation looked like it was barbed or would snap over some internal feature, but I couldn't tell looking at the intact connector how I would release it - you think if I can get a small needle nose on it that it will just pull out? I can try it later today - like I said, I have two chances. If I finally figure it out, I can collect some at the JY.

One place where the trinket selection at the Harbor Freight checkout counter comes in handy.

Ace is the place. Picked up (no pun intended) a couple double ended picks this afternoon. One end of one of them broke almost immediately. I was able to pull the white piece out of one connector which made it more obvious how to release the sockets. I was able to repair the connector for the sensor on the thermostat housing. Double checked the one on the head discharge; the latch on that one had failed. I also noticed that one of the wires was broken. I hate to cut the spare harness to solder the connector assembly to my harness - are the pin/sockets available separately to put on my harness wires and just swap the plastic connector housing?

Aug. 14, 2019: Ordered three. One to fix Ruby, one to repair the harness I took one from, and a spare. They are gray instead of green.
