Hey guys,
Since getting my '91 LX AT running the other day, I've been going on various drives trying to flesh out any lingering issues. From what I can tell, the only thing that seems to still be a problem is the "S" light stays lit on the dash. The Sport button on the transmission works ok, but the light persists no matter the position.
From what I've read there are people that have problems with it flashing, or coming on at certain times, etc but I haven't seen anything about it just staying lit, and not causing any driveability issues as is my case. It starts, warms up, and idles just fine. It seems to go through all the gears and runs great at high speed.
I was very diligent going over the connectors in the engine bay to make sure I plugged them all back in after reinstalling the head. Is it possible there is a fault in my TCU?
I also read here that it's possible that if my TCU were not a 90-91 model it may behave this way. Is that in fact possible? I plan on taking another look under the hood to make sure I didn't miss any connectors, and pull back the carpet to see if it looks like the TCU has been disturbed or has writing on it.
