Which transmission fluid to use with Quaife LSD in race/track car?

In my old stock Accord transmission with open diff, I ran Redline MT90 (which is a 75w90 synthetic gear oil), which I was happy with I guess.

The 3rd gear synchro still died, but I don't think that was the fluid.


Now that I'm putting a Quaife in and carbon synchros, do people use anything different?

I use Mobil 1 0W30 or 10W30 synthetic with no issues. I have a Quaiffe LSD and carbon syncros in a GearSpeed built H2U5 with a Prelude final drive (4.266).

Honda recommends 10W30. Why would you run 75W90??

gear oil 75w90 does't translate directly to 10w30 motor oil. Like 90 weight gear oil isn't 3x thicker than 30 weight motor oil.

But I run the MT90 becuase it's a bit thicker, it should cushion gears a bit more, and also keep the transaxle cooler for the 9 hour endurance races in 100+ degree weather.


How do you like those synchros and how do you like the LSD? I've never driven a FWD car with an LSD, I'm hoping it doesn't act too different on track and screw me up
