So it's the line that runs over the top of the tank (more info in the beginning would have helped)? There are two straps that hold the tank up; make sure you use some lubricant on the bolt threads. I had one of the nuts tear off the bracket when I tried to drop my tank; I wound up having to replace the brackets above the rear cross member. Before dropping the tank you will have to disconnect the wire harness at the tank level sensor under a circular plate behind the right side of the rear seat. Disconnect the fuel lines at the left side of the tank. If you're lucky, these will not be really rusted. That brake line is a single piece all the way from the front of the car. If most of the line it intact and you have (or get) a flaring tool, you can splice in shorter piece of line where you need it.
