    Passenger Side CV Shaft issues

My Passenger side CV shaft keeps going bad, the part number is: "APWI HO8046" I want to believe this brand is just junk. Does anyone know of a durable CV Shaft for a decent price. I'm not looking to spend over $150 each.

I just want something that I'm not going to have to replace every so often. I don't race the car, and I have it lowered a little but I have the camber taken out with SPC joints. I wouldn't think lowering would affect it but I don't know. I would love someones opinion on this.

I'm about to buy an H online here soon and I want the car to be mechanically fit where I don't have to mess with it every month. My plan is to get everything I can find wrong fixed before putting the CB back on the road where it's safe to drive.

What you want = An expensive axle. Don't cheap out on important parts of the car (brakes, suspension, drivetrain, tires), it will cost you more in the long run. Save up $ if you have to.

I was looking at OEM, but I believe they are like $250 or $300 a piece. I might as well buy low in performance axles at the point. I don't mind spending a little more as long as they aren't breaking like the ones I have now.

So I sent my cv shafts in under warranty and same ones but new are popping when I accelerate and or stop. Then when stopping I hear kind of a clicking noise but more of a "thud-thud-thud--thud--thud---thud---thud" I have new everything suspension and I know all of those parts are good, I stopped buying cheap crap (except these CVs). Could it be the CV making that noise too, I always thought the clicking happened either when turning or all the time when driving?

Here's a run down of my suspension and other parts:
        Upper SPC BJ
        Lower Moog BJ
Megan Racing Street Coilovers (not EZ or blue ones)
        ESP Auto to Man Mount
        Innovative Motors mounts
        Brembo Pads and Rotors
        ROH Conversion

My CV Shafts even look funny when I raise the car, like they are too short. Has anyone else experienced these issues above?

I tried to buy OEM and was told they are no longer available. Did you ever find a good Axle?

I have installed a new axle from Advance Auto (P/N 36503, $70) on the left side.
It has about 5000 miles and no issue yet.

How soon/miles is yours breaking down?

i had to get a new passenger side so i got the SURTRACK from rockauto it was like 40 bucks, and have been beating on it with an h22 for almost a year now with 0 problems. make sure when you install new ones you make sure it seated in the trans well, center the circlip on the stud with grease, you get a nice click when it seats, and after you rotate it a couple times, then give a little tug and it shouldnt pop out. and the wheel side hit up the splines on the hub with a wirebrush and put a little synthetic grease on the splines of the axle and torque to spec.

New Raxles are between $150-200 each if you have a OEM Honda axle core.

I've had plenty of problems with cheap, crappy axles from multiple vendors. Even OE axles rebuilt by a local shop had a bad vibration on acceleration. The fix were high quality NEW CV joints instead of reground OE or new crappy CV joints. They are expensive but they are worth it - IMO.

I went with this company http://www.cvjreman.com/
CVJ Axles. I removed a SurTrack brand on the drivers side. I have a slight vibration that may be coming from the Aftermarket axle.
I will let you know how it goes after I install the CVJ Axle. Raxles were going to be a lot more than the $109.00 (core + shipping included) that I paid for the CVJ

I'm curious how CVJ works out - they don't really say what's involved in "rebuilding" the CV joint.

http://www.cvjreman.com/axles.php They only rebuild the OEM cores.

Good thing they were still under warranty at the time, but now I have to put down some money on good ones. I left a message with the CVJ axles to see what their price is.
