lately i've been noticing when i want to shift in and out of Park, the shifter gets stuck right below it. i have to force it really hard to get it to shift, and sometimes it doesn't even budge. anyone ever have this problem?

I had/have that problem as well as a bunch of other people locally. It got better after I changed the front dog bone mount but it still needs a bit more force to get it into park as I would like. I also tried adjusting the shifter cable (where it connects to the shifter) but that didn't help. I eventually got used to it.

Yeah, I've been having that problem myself. I thought something may have spilled in there or something that was keeping it from being easy to manuever. But, I cleaned it out and that didn't do anything. I'd also like to find a solution to this problem.

I think it was the shift link cable??

I have the same problem. Sometimes I have to use two hands to get the damn thing out of park and into reverse and drive. It just started recently that the shifter gets stuck about a 1/2" before park and I have to push it (button in/button out doesn't matter) into place at park. Any reasons for this?

I was working on my shifter the other day because my P light won't come on sometimes after parking (so I couldn't take the key out). A bit of jiggling usually made it come on. Anyways, I took the shift selector switch apart (has all the wires connected to it on the side of the shifter, 2 10mm nuts holding it on) and cleaned out the slider, popped out the contacts and pulled the springs behind it longer to push the contacts out better and put it all back together. Now my P light comes on when it's supposed to AND it's not hard to put it into or take out of park. I'm not sure if it directly had to do with fixing the selector switch but for whatever reason, it's not hard to shift now. It's the thing on the bottom left side of the diagram:http://www.honda.co.uk/owner/AccordManual/400/9-87.pdf

I had this problem, but after I changed my tranny fluid the problem went away. I used honda ATF fluid and it made changing gears a lot smoother.

i had the same problem i took the shift cable out and spray some wd40 or some lubricant of some kind where it connect to the tranny and work it around for a while it was ok after a while but the problem came back , so i just change the cable
