Ever? uuuhhh....you're on borrowed time my friend. As far as a DIY, havn't seen any around here. The next time I do one at work I can take some pics, but I just don't know when that will be. Best thing to do is to go buy a service manual and read thru the process and make sure this is something you want to do on your own, because there are alot of steps and alot of things you can do wrong. If it looks a little too involved for you, I would just bite the bullet and take it to the Honda dealer to have it done.

exactly.. ^^ i mean imo sometimes it pays to have certain things done. not everyone can or have the tools necessary. it'll save you more money to just have someone done w/ warranty, and correct versus spending time, the troubles, and cost to get tools, timing etc.

i do try what i can to do in my abilities. maybe one day..

but then again there's people who have that knowledge, time, experience, tools, etc etc. to get it done..

      none the less good luck
      hahahahah

That sound like a great price. What all does that include? waterpump, seals, etc.

u might consider doing those as well, if u know what i mean.. look at ur car and have all the necessities done. so u dont have to go back which may end up costing you more or troubled..

plus ur getting turbo right?? :P

If you're in Edmonton you might want to call TopTech or Rick's auto in St. Albert. I've heard Wilson's AutoTech is pretty good as well (http://www.wilsonsautotech.com/). They all specialize in Honda's. $350 sounds pretty competitive, but you'll probably want a new balancer shaft belt and at least a seal retainer (if not new seals). If nothing has ever been done in there I think it's money well spent.

Ya I don't think it has been changed but I got like 285,xxxkm I was thinking it may have been changed before my mom owned it, but I'll take a look at the belt and see if its cracked.

squig808- sweet another cb7 from edmonton area!!! so far I know only 2 in edmonton and 3 in c-town.

I'll check out those shops in edmonton, but was thinking of doing it myself, out of 5 how hard is changing the time belt and doing all the rest aswell?

                        thx

First of all, you cannot "inspect" the belt, its not like a regular drive belt that forms cracks, it pretty much just gets old and breaks. Also, I would advise against aftermarket shops, I fix so many screw-ups from those jackasses its not even funny. IMO, nobody knows Hondas better than an actual Honda technician. But if you do go that route, just make sure they at least use all OEM parts.

                            I can not agree more!!

I really trust my honda shop the most, but there was one time where I had to go back to them 5-7 times in two weeks cuz things keep on breaking after they touched it,.......................

If you do want to DIY, def. get a service manual and study that. Also, I've seen some really good pictures of the timing belt/balancer belt/ along w/ all the tensioners and pulleys. I saw them a few weeks ago, but they're in the Technical Forum. Just search for them. Before you do your boost project, do you all necessary repairs/maintenance first, can't advocate that enough. Good luck Henry!
