    car still wont start

the other day im drivin on the parkway and my car just dies. Then my gas meter just drops to empty. ive had this problem before and i just walk to the gas station and i put gas in it. But this time the car doesnt start.
I got the car towed home (busted my mgn lip). my friend and i jumped the battery, changed the spark plugs, checked fuel filter, changed cap and rotor and even sprayed starting fluid in the intake and still wouldnt start. the car cranks and cranks but doesnt turn over. and eventually the car just dies and i have to rejump it. Someone says it could be the alternator, my friend says i could be getting no spark, and i think there could be air in the fuel system, but i smell gasoline after every crank.wtf?
this is just another reason for me to do my swap while in school. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? info please! info please!

by the way in know you guys saw the recent honda tuning.....if not check it out. (f22b)

If you've run your car out of gas often, it could be the fuel pump. This happened to me last year. Spray some carb cleaner in the intake and see if you can get it to start. If so, you may not be getting fuel, and it's time to start checking the filter, pump, etc...

well do you or do you not have spark? Pull out a spark plug, stick it in the wire and hold the electrode ground to the engine or body, have somone crank the engine and watch the spark plug.

          still cant tell

my friend tried that spark plug idea and we still got nothing, cant really tell if im getting spark, atleast it wasnt really noticable. Its a brand new dizzy, and spark plugs the only thing i can think of now is to change the ign. wires. i still smell gasoline every time i crank it, and the fuel filter had fuel in it, so gasoline still seems to be flowing. im at school right now, ima try to change the wires dis weekend, change the fuel filter.thanks everyone.

bet you it is your coil. if you dont have any spark at all, you most likely have a bad coil. if your igniter is a OKI igniter, then i would go ahead and also replace that also with HONDA factory parts. if you have a HITACHI or a NEC igniter, then you are ok. but depending on the condition of your vehicle and year, i would just go ahead and replace both and put NGK ZFR5F-11 spark plugs on it. if you dont have spark and spray carb cleaner in your intake, the engine will not fire because you have no spark. but if you have spark and you spray carb cleaner into your manifold, then you have a fuel pump issue. i am 99.9% sure that it is the coil and the igniter. take the coil out and pop the metal piece off, you should wee burned spots on there. small, big, dont matter, it is still burned. good luck.....

take your dist off 3-12mm bolts have someone look if the cam is moving while turning over. or check with voltmeter on the ign.coil

you can just take your oil cap off and thru there.

My vote's with the ignition coil. My old 90 EX did the same thing back in 99.

Lets wait and find out what the verdict is....
