is it a sound coming from exhaust or the engine bay which you are speaking of because if its a high pitched notice going from first gear and ends in second it could be either engine or exhaust?

it is only going from first to second and it is in the engine bay in the area of the valve cover, its just annoying and i do not want to brake anything but ya its only going from first to 2nd thanks

shit, well i had that on my cb7 before i lost it, it is a high pitched kind of noise, like Reeeeeerrr, i dunno what it does, mine used to go away when i ran it real hard, but then came back when the car was cold. it even sounds weird when i used to accel in it... i was never sure what it is. it definately wasnt exhaust, its gotta be from the engine, might be valves?.. fizzbob would know alot more on that subject than i would.. but adjusting the valves might have something to do with it.

hmm. i have no idea because i took it to my honda dealership to check out the noise .. tell them that you are hearing a noise coming from the engine bay and that you think it could be the valves and have em take a look under the valve cover, depending on what it takes to fix it could cost maybe 200 bux max.. if that.. depends wuts wrong.

              valve adjustment ....

it doesn through first and second? mine does it under 2k rpm...

id rather not have honda 'take a look ' at it...id rather just say do a valve adjustment if its the problem cause they will charge 80 bucks and really honda doesnt know jack shit...if u just tell em to do a valve adjustment then they will only charge 80..but if they check it...its extra 80 for them to give you their 'professional diagnossis'

take it to some small shop...its not hard to do a valve adjustment....save u some cash...thats if its a valve adjustment
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

either way, im used to taking it to the dealership for everything that goes wrong, but thats just me... i dont know how to re adjust them myself.. but either way you might want to have it checked out.

it sounds like hes not talking of a squealing sound tho that would be associated with the belts.
