Thanks guys for the reply, I don't have a mic big enough to fit the journal so I'm going to have to take it back up to the machine shop and ask them to do it for me. I'm all new to this so thanks for being patient with me.

I'd get a new machinist.
The reason the bearings are different size is because the crankshaft journals are different size. Thus, unless the machinist reground all of your journals to be the same size, polishing isn't going to change the size bearing you need.
In fact, if the polish did take off some material, this just makes it more important for you to measure the actual clearance and buy bearings that match the clearance. Standard bearings might have too much clearance, accelerating wear. If you are only going to run the engine for 20,000 miles or so, it probably doesn't matter. But why rebuild the engine if you don't intend for it to last?
