If it's just a solenoid, then there isn't a wrong way to hook it up. Same reason you can't hook a relay coil up "backwards"

it'll still purge anyways even if you interchange the wires ?

Yes sir. Again as long as it's just a solenoid.

You could hook it up to the battery and should here a click which ever way you have the wires.

thank you sonica !! I just wanted to be sure if it is purging because I recently cleaned my fuel tank and my pump strainer and changed my fuel filter but wasn't sure of the two-way valve and evap mechanism
