    f22a Weight?

Does anyone know how much an f22a weights? I am looking to buy an engine stand, and want to make sure I have one strong enough.

I don't know for sure but I bought the 1 ton harbor freight lift. and I used the smaller of their stand. I believe it was 750lb stand.

The 750lb stands are more than enough for an F22. I have had my F22 in my stand for 2 years now. The biggest thing is getting good quality grade 8 hardware for mounting it to the stand.

Before that I had a 500CID V8 mounted to it with no issues.

i can move a complete engine and trans around with a dolly so any engine stand will suffice as long as its not a plastic toy one

I went to the JY and swipped about 2 sets of the transmission to engine bolts.
They worked well and I think I used one more bolt and nut at the bottom maybe 2.

Make sure and get a 4 leg one if you can and not a 3 leg.

Here is my AC Delco stand. Rated for 1000lbs. It's held a 454 before.

            $90

The MVMA specs for the F22A in the 1995 Prelude says it weights 281 pounds.

This might be a little low (the MVMA specs for the F22B2 in the 1995 Accord says it weighs 333 pounds), but its likely only about 300 pounds - less once you take of the intake and exhaust manifolds.

300lbs eh? I'll keep that in mind. How much does the trans weight? about 60-70?

My auto with torque converter weighed 135ish, the 5 speed weighs 110ish. I have only weighed the automatic so the 5 speed is just a guess.

I shipped the automatic to a buyer so I knew the exact weight before putting it in a container. 137lbs IIRC.

didnt seem that heavy. i mean the TC is like 20 pounds full of fluid if that.. but i was able to snatch it up and put it on this flimsy metal table before it was stripped to paint..hmm..draining it helped a bit..

I was surprised it weighed that much to be honest. If I wouldn't have weighed it on my buddy's digital scrap metal scales first, I would have thought Fed Ex was trying to screw me over.
