    2000 Prelude Gas Smell?

My neighbor who owns a really nice pearl white MINT VTEC Prelude
has been smelling gas after warm up and driving awhile.

She also states that it starts knocking? Any one who can offer some ideas ..?
I had her check her lines and look for puddles, catalectic converter ..
She had it @the dealer for 5 hours, nothing .. hmm ...

Anyone own a lude that ever gave off a gas smell? Solutions?

hmm if our chassis's are similar..when i started smelling fuel it wound up being the junction right in front of the rear wheel driver side rotting out. the knocking i dunno..might be valve lash..knocking is kinda vague, are you going to work on it, you can use a long screwdriver like a stethoscope to pinpoint the knock.

      Charcoal filter? PCV? Leaky injectors?

Is it gas or an exhaust smell?

I know .. ug, no I'm not going to do ay work on it myself.
Just wondering if anyone might have had an issue like this before.

It's a Vegas Lude, so no rust, no place for rot .. lines are all good,
no wet spots in the garage. I should have asked her if the dealer
found any codes, hell, did they even RUN for any codes?

ehh, we'll see .. hopefully nothing serious. Just that it only does it after warming up.
Only reason I suggested the cat .. who knows, cold be anything ..
        I'll keep you informed ..

        thanks!

could be a bad gasket for the sending unit or fuel pump.

I know when I had to swap fuel pumps, I stupidly didn't replace the gasket and I always got the gas smell. Basically had to redo it, this time replacing the 13 dollar honda gasket, then I was able to pass emissions pressure test.
