Everybody has to start somewhere, but you're a bit off pace. There are inner and outer tie rods on BOTH sides. They hook to the to the knuckle on the side toward the back of the car. Inbetween the inner and outer ends is a bar that rotates to set the alignment. If there is a boot on one side and not the other, then it is missing on one side and thus needs a new rack guaranteed. If the axel is missing a boot, you're fucked. Just find another car and be glad you didn't buy this one. Sounds like you need to start smaller with your repairs before you jump to this level or repairs.
Nobodys hatin on you, just trying to give some advice to a fellow Honda guy. We all started somewhere with our repairs, but before jumping into tis you may want to learn a little more about your ride before you get this fucked up of a car!!!!!!!!!

Was there ever a manual rack in a CB7, or were they all power steering. I need to replace mine. I remember in my Integra the manual civic rack would work. But Im not sure if thats the case here.

92 EX vs a 93 SE both have the same part number for a P/S gear box. Apparently though, through the Honda online site a new gear box would cost $8XX some dollars though, but I see you're going to try to swap the SE one in.

There should be a boot on both sides of the R&P though...it's most likely missing one.

I've done the repair myself on my car, it is very time consuming and you have to be extremely patient. Most of the bolts you need to remove probably haven't come out in like 12-15 years, and are VERY hard to get out without proper power tools. If you can follow instructions in the Haynes manual, you can do this repair... it just takes time. If a certified mechanic says he can do it in 4, but the book says to charge for 7, then it's an all day job or more for a first timer who doesn't know what the hell he's doing.

If your getting a break in the price so you can pay a mechanic, then I'd go that route instead... this is a very DIRTY job.

BTW, if you want to know what happens if you keep driving it? How about having the steering wheel ripped out of your hands while you are driving as it winds in one direction? It takes all of your effort to steer it the other direction, then it pops and winds the other way. You could be sitting at a light after that, and not even holding the wheel and it would just start winding one direction or another and stick there... thats what I dealt with for a month before I saved enough money for the part so I could fix it myself. Turns out I have to do i might have to do it again now. Thank god for lifetime warranties...

To become ASE certified you have to take a test and score 95% or better to become certified in each of 8 separate categories.
Yes the rack will work from ANY CB7 in your car. There is no manual rack for this accord nor would you ever want one. At 3000 pounds it's VERY difficult to turn at a dead stop.
Yes, if you're getting a deal(250 or less) it would be benificial to let someone do it for you and watch. Like Evol said, those bolts have been there for almost 15 years now and theres lots of grime down there. It take hella tool to get it done efficiently.
I am buying a 92 lx tomorrow with bad valve seals but don't give a shit if it smokes at start up because I will only have that motor for a week or so, long enough to get the rest of the parts for the 93 H22A motor I bought today. See to me the motor doesn't matter. To you it's maintence money that does not need to be spent. Good Luck!!!

so even if the rack came outta a 5spd or auto tranny it will still work?

Yes, transmission has no bearing on the rack

Amen brother... I know what it's like to drive without power steering, build some nice arm muslces. I know what you may be thinking... "why are you driving without power steering?", well... when it's connected, it makes a loud noise when I turn the wheel. Is it possible for cheap belt to stretch to the point of not holding the correct tension?

Sorry to get off the thread owners prob, but more than likely your pump is going bad. You can try and put some lucas in it and that quietens fords up alot, may work for you. It may also have air in it if it ever ran low. Try reving the motor and if this makes the turning easier or quiet down it's either the belt as you asked(only like 10 bucks to switch out) or your pump(my guess).

It works fine when I have it connected, but since I changed the belts, both belts made noise since then... maybe I should go to honda and get the right belts.
