Ive searched the forums but i havent found an issue like mine so help is appreciated. My 92 LX, manual has a problem starting sometimes. Doesnt matter if its cold or hot. I did notice that i did not hear the fuel pump when this happened so i changed it and it still does it. Im thinking ignition or main fuse but i wanted to get some feedback before i start throwing parts at it. Thanks in advance fellas and ladies.

When it won't start and you do not hear the fuel pump prime when the key is turned to the ON or RUN position, it's almost always the main relay.
If you do not want to waste money or throw parts at it you can remove your main relay, inspect it, and even repair it.

If you find that the relay is bad and opt not to repair it feel free to give me a PM and I can hook you up. I have about 40 main relays that I have pulled from the salvage yards around here and repaired then tested.
On another note, what fuel pump did you get to replace your old one with?

if you don't hear the fuel pump when it happens then your main relay can be at fault. Watch the CEL turn on when you turn on your key. If you hear a click from under the dash when the CEL turns off then your car should start.
If you don't hear a click and your car doesn't start, then the main relay is the culprit. What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
