    1G Legend Hood Strut Installation

I recently saw some awesome CBs with hood struts installed to replace the stock props. Then I found the DIY on installing 2G Legend hood struts by PR_CB7 . I decided to do a little more research and found, in another thread, that crazymikey had suggested 1G Legend struts, given that they are shorter, because you don't have to use a tap and die set, which I don't have, to install them.
So, I went forward on that and purchased some new ones:

Has anyone installed these 1Gs successfully? I would love to hear how you did it .

    Thanks, as always.

I had OReily's order the set for me. On the receipt, it says:

Line: 1990 Acura Legend SAC, which makes me think this is a Sachs part.
      Item Number: SG326003
On the part it has the numbers 4813 and 29507

the sg in the part number tells me its a sachs

but the 4813 is the strong arm number which i can cross over faster

        thanks a million

Oh wow, thanks guys. I really want these 1Gs to work out. I can already tell that due to their shorter length, however, we will not be able to use the preexisting middle fender bolt, unless mine are for some reason not fully extended, which I doubt. It seems like four (or six) new holes will need to be drilled.

Did you ever get a chance to try and install them?

just use those self tapping screws, Tek, screws I think they're called. Two for each should be more than enough to hold the force of them.

Thanks for the Tek tip! I ordered some on Saturday night plus washers.

When placing these hood struts for installation, before screwing down, I am checking to make sure that you place them with the hood opened to its maximum intended angle, since the struts are fully extended when uninstalled.
