215/60r16 tires question

Hello everyone, I got some almost brand new 215/60r16 tires from a friend. Would I be able to fit them on my cb7, lowered 2 inches or should I invest in other sizes? Thanks

i'm running 225/45-17's on my cb lowered 2 inches and i have 2 Continentals in the rear that rub if if i turn left or right hard

I think 16 is the max, well mine is not lowered will I be able to install 17s ?

I am lowered 1.6" on 205/45R17 no rubbing at all. Rim diameter does not matter for this scenario as much as tire outer diameter.

Those 215/60R16 might be a bit too big. There will probably be rubbing.

You can do whatever you want... you just have to know what it will do to your car.

Did you get rims with the tires? Or do you already have a set of 16 inch rims? Your sig shows that you are on stock rims. Those are 15 inch rims, and those tires will not fit on them.

The real way to see if it will fit is to know the height, width, and offset of the rims that are going on the car. This will help you figure out if it will rub or if it will fit properly.

As for that specific size... 215/60/16 is going to be too tall and will throw off your speedometer. The OEM size for stock 15 inch rims is 195/60/15.

16 inch rims are not the max... I've seen a guy with 22s on his cb7. Not the best look, but it is possible.

A lot of your "rubbing" issues can be fixed by rolling your fenders. This is a must if you want to minimize the chance of rubbing. There is a small lip on the inner edge of the fender. This needs to be flattened to be parallel to the fender itself, instead of perpendicular. It will free up area for the tires to fit.

Yeah, those are WAY too big. They will throw your speedometer off quite a bit.

Here is a link comparing the two sizes. You can see the 215/60/16s are 8% larger than the OEM tire size. 3% is the very biggest you want to be.

A more appropriate tire size for 16s would be 215/50/16. You can see that is only 1% larger than the OEM size, so it is an acceptable tire size.

Very much appreciated guys, I decided to sell those tires so if anybody wants them, they are going for the low. I'm just gonna save up some money and go OEM specs
