    4-Wheel Alignment

    Just some questions about them

1- How often you guys normally? Once or twice a year? After any suspension work?

2-Where to you usually go? Pep Boys, Tire Plus, Midas, Meineke? Some local shop?

    3- How much you usually pay? $40, 50, 60, or 80+

My back tires are GONE. Dangerous in any rain. New tires arrive tomorrow. Mount and balance them, then off to the alignment shop.

    Later.

I redid my tie rods and NEEDED an alignment as the tires were wearing after about 60 miles (i had just finished the h22 swap and wanted to drive it what can i say) I took it to about 4-5 places and they all turned me away because it was lowered. I was not all that concerned with camber as its just slightly off it was more the pitches of the front and the wear... I finally found a place, went in, left it... said nothing about it being lowered and left... I got a call an hour later... you neglected to inform us the car was lowered (im thinkin great...) but they just said it would be more... I needed it done so i dealt with it (about $115)
Then when I got back they tried to tell me how I NEEDED a full camber kit and the price... are you ready for this sh** $1250!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was like no thank you!! I can do it myself for a few hundred max, with quality parts... I dont take my car in for anything really... shops get me soo mad, but I love to argue and stuff with them when they try to sell me or my friends something thats totally unnedded. Id say unless you redo the suspension every tire change?

I have it dropped 2.0 inches all around. I was denied at Sears because I was too low for them, maybe they didn't want to work on it or had some old skool drive-on lift.

I found a good place called Belle Tire and they have a Hunter laser alignment rack and because I replaced all my suspension components, it was done rather quickly (no need to do their traditional ball-joint checks, etc). I had to go to them again yesterday after work because of my "TN meet incident". Anyways, my car is re-aligned and it was off in both rear toes and front-left toe (because my front-left tie-rod jam nut was totally loose). I paid $60 first time and for the 2nd time since I did it at Belle Tire again, it was only $30 because it was still on warranty or something like that they said.

Cool, I guess most places are bitches when it comes to lowered cars, even when its only 1 or at most 2 inches drop. Anyways I was referred to a shop that specialized in lowered cars and they have a solid positive history of their workmanship. So I'm getting my car done there this week, I'll let you guys know how it goes after I'm done. My set up is Neuspeed Race with Tokico HP.
